If you are worried about being a good mom, it means you will be. How can you be a bad mom when you want so badly to be a good one? Good luck, mine are 6 and 6 months and they are amazing!

just wanted to let you know that cutting sugar is totally possible! i've been completely off processed sugar for about a year (for health reasons). i do eat a bit of natural sugar every few days: a tablespoon or so of raw honey, maple syrup, or brown rice syrup. i highly recommend the desserts in lappe and terry's GRUB and the yummy brown rice crispy treats and kantens in the jessica porter's Hip Chick's Guide to Macrobiotics. oh, and rice dream's frozen dessert, with fruit and almonds!

it does take a while for your tastebuds to adjust--i'm just now starting to appreciate the joys of carob. i think it's useful to remember that these desserts don't substitute for chocolate, ice cream, whatever...try to enjoy them on for their own merits and it's not so sad to think about hot chocolate (or whatever your favorite is...)

my homeopath says that sugar is like heroin..i always think about that when the slices of chocolate cake start getting passed around at a BBQ (OK, this just happened to me this evening so it's on my mind). :)

anyway, enough of that, good luck with everything!! you can do it, and little future crafternoon baby will be so happy!
