I’m sure everyone already knows this, but Tasha Tudor died last week.
Makes me think of this post I did in February.

Well! Breaks sometimes happen whether we want them or not and I apologize for being so very naughty in the watering and feeding of this blog. I was busy with the upkeep of daily life, which can take anyone off their blogging habits if they are not careful.
But I have been knitting. And here is what I knit.

Booties for a co-worker and the sweetest tiny hat tipped with jaunty little oval buttons for an additional splash of color. I based the color scheme on the mommy’s favorite sweater that she wore throughout her pregnancy. And I sorta hacked that bootie pattern created by Saartje from two straps to one for a more pronounced mary jane look.
I think they are quite stylish, myself. Makes me want a pair for shuffling around the house.
And I do have some good posts coming up. Some skirts I made, a wardrobe refashion that wasn’t really a wardrobe refashion. And a couple of other things, you’ll see soon enough.
Thanks for you patience with me everyone! I hope you continue to read my blog as I PROMISE some interesting posts soon!

So, I did finish the wrap part and have started down the back. But it’s so tough to knit this type of thing when the weather starts getting nice. And people start having babies and the desire to knit small easy things grows. But I like it so far. We’ll see…

And the cabling slows me down enough to make sure that I’m not busting at RSI speeds.
Ravelry has been very inspiring to help me chug through it. And I like the duck egg blue and the brown combo. Very snuggly that will be perfect in November, when the weather I need to wear this shows up again.

Not to steal from Miley Cyrus, but I’ve got the best of both worlds happening Sunday–The Devil-Ettes are performing at Maker’s Faire–just about the coolest craft show ever and I’m so excited to be bringing the craft of go-go to crafters everywhere.
We are going to be teaching kiddies some moves like the swim, the twist and all sorts of other goodies.
Here we are last year. Whee! I can’t hardly wait! Hmm… if only I had the coordination to knit and dance at the same time…

A most wonderful break from work. A trip to Mexico. To where we honeymooned.
There was a little bit of this: Actually very little knitting. The simple lace socks for Interweave with the most gorgeous bamboo wool yarn ever on 0 needles. But a bit tough on my poor arms. And this was a vacation. Full of vacation reading. A nice mix of cotton candy and slightly heavier reading too.

And more than a little of this: Squirt and tequila rule!

And gazing out at this gorgeous view. Sigh!

But glad to be back home.

Sigh–I don’t know what happened, but it always does happen every April. All of a sudden things just get busy. Like booked every night and nearly tearing my hair out because I need a bit of a break. And I’m about to get one. A nice yummy long one.
But before I do anything, I must share with you my most recent work. Yes, embroidery. Kitty embroidery. This little cuties were picked up from Beverly’s and were simply too cute and vintagey not to do. Don’t you agree. It was so much fun creating the colors choices.
OK–here is my test run of flour towels. I stopped by my local Beverly’s to find that they had loads of embroidery goodies there too. Including these adorable vintage kittens doing chores throughout the week.
Wouldn’t these be perfect? I think so too! So I bring you almost a week of kitties.
Monday and Tuesday

Wednesday and Thursday

I made them gray of course, thinking of Minnow–who really isn’t gray, but still super cute!

Is it just me, or does Minnow look like she’s going to kick that cookie’s ASS!?!
Here she is looking much sweeter.

Anyway, I came to the conclusion that I enjoy embroidery as a nice break. But I use napkins a lot more than these thinner kitchen towels. So, I think I’m going to scrap my idea of doing another round of kitchen towels, but instead do them as cloth napkins. Doesn’t that sound sweet? I think so! So, keep an eye out for them in this summer or so.

Well, I’m still here. Things sometimes just get a bit bumpy in life. I fear things might be getting a bit more bumpy as Devil-Ette Season is upon us and I just can’t say no to my Go-Go girlies, so we are in the midst of auditions, etc. and learning great new fun dances.
But I have been crafting and kicking clutter’s derriere! And where did the beatdown happen? Why my overburdened closet. Poor thing! With the help of Dana sitting on my bed, giving thumbs up and thumbs down to some of my dearest dresses. Well, it was bracing to say the least.
Here are some proccess pictures–please feel free to avert your eyes to the horrors.
People, I am not proud.
But after a couple of hours, there was some serious clothing carnage.
I got rid of more than three bags full and am in the process of selling twenty or so items on eBay. Wish me luck! So far I’ve netted more than $300. Hurrah!
And of course I can’t find the pictures I had of the nice clean closet. Bah!
Hopefully, tomorrow I’ll have a proper craft post. Crossing fingers…

Much to my utter delight and surprise my yarn showed up the other night and I had to start knitting immediately.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:

What was a real delight it is to use my often forgotten Swallowtail casein knitting needles. I love the tortiose shell look of them and they are so nice and light compared to the heavier metal needles that I normally use but still smooth.

You can see the pattern a bit better here. It’s quite a bit of fun, actually! I actually finished the yoke and am starting the back, which is coming out nicely except I made a mistake a couple of times and now have to take it out, which of course is SO MUCH FUN. I had a chance to do the knitting when I was sick earlier this week.
But more updates later. Such as: Easter Sunday (just found out, I’m cooking the main meal…) and a week of kitties!

This man is making me talk about my blog.
And yes, he used this cute baby as the lure.

And this cute baby.
OK! You people that use your aborable spawn to get me to bend to your whims! Enough!
Actually, I’m very excited about this. Yes, I’m taking it to the streets. The dirty naughty streets of San Francisco to talk about my wee crafty blog at “My Blog Live: Online Onstage” and it’s going to be hilarious. I’ll finally be able to tell the rest of the world the crafting is hilarious! Seriously! Right, guys?….Right?
So if you are in SF, stop on by this night of fun!
